Yad is a free browser extension that carries out tasks on web pages that you describe in plain language. There is no account and no payment: you bring your own AI model key. This policy explains what happens to your data. For the full, detailed version, see our complete privacy policy.
To carry out your task, Yad reads the content of the web page you are working on (its text and links). This is the only kind of data Yad handles.
Yad works together with a local companion app on your own computer. To understand your task, the page content and your instruction are sent to the AI model you choose in the settings, using your own API key. We are not a party to that exchange: we never see your key or that content. If you choose a local model, nothing leaves your computer. If you choose a cloud model, the page content and your instruction are sent to that provider to generate the next step.
Your passwords, PIN codes and card numbers are masked before anything is sent. Your API key is encrypted on your own device and never reaches our servers. Your settings and saved tasks are stored only on your own device. Yad does not collect your browsing history, your location, or your personal communications.
When Yad gets stuck on a site, it automatically sends a small anonymous signal to our own server: the site's domain, the type of hiccup, and the type of action. Never page content, logins, or other personal data. This shared recovery memory helps Yad solve a problem faster if another user already ran into it. This is on by default, and at the moment there is no in-app setting to turn it off; email us if you want to avoid it entirely.
Yad does not sell or transfer your data to third parties. It does not use your data for anything other than carrying out your task. It does not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Our website itself places no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking software.
